Recap: Alt Summit Business Cards Have Me Dreaming of Color

Now that I'm working from home, I'm realizing how uninspiring cream can be. Our walls are cream. Our trim is white. It's a nice neutral color treatment. Alt was awash in bright beautiful colors and has me dreaming of non-permanent ways to add color to the walls of The Station.

I love color. As a child I had a room where each wall was painted a different color. One was blue. One was green. One was yellow. One was pink. So, I was excited to hear Sherwin-Williams talk at Alt about their 2013 color of the year and 2013 color palettes before Katie Sokoler of Color Me Katie gave the closing keynote.

The color palette that best captures her energy is aptly named High Voltage. I love the mix of bright pinks and oranges.

For their color of the year, Sherwin-Williams picked Aloe, "fresh, fluid, ... spirited, optimistic." I'd love to paint just the alcove next to our fireplace in Aloe (I'll have to call a local Sherwin-Williams store to find out if they have removable wallpaper in Aloe; the search on their website was less than helpful).

Even better than the pick? The palette they showcased it with:. Vintage Moxie means "Flirty Accents, Retro Glamour, ... Free-Spirited, ... Bold Pastels."

The last color palette of the four Sherwin-Williams presented that I liked and that I could see in our flat was Honed Vitality.

I found a lot of hand applied details in this group of cards. From bunting created with glitter to bunting created with stitching to envelopes created with washi tape to squirrel paper clips and kraft stickers.

I'm really loving bunting right now. What do you think of bunting above a headboard in a master bedroom?

P.S. A few of my favorites aren't included in this post. You'll be seeing them next month when I reveal my office. (It's a little too messy right now to include a sneak peek.)
