Announcing: Hearty Thai Family Dinner at The Station, September 29th

Just in time for the Fall comes the first Family Dinner at The Station. I've spent the summer putting the finishing touches on recipes and discovering the limits of a kitchen powered by a single 15 amp circuit just so that I could offer your tastebuds a symphony of flavors and showcase local ingredients. And the menu I have lined up for you does just that.

Table Set with Ingredients and Appetizers

Wherever I've traveled I've always found a way to host a family dinner. I've filled small apartments to capacity and taken over the hallways. I've commandeered the back of a box truck. I've pre-made, vacuum packed, and froze meals to reheat and serve in the Black Rock Desert. Now I'm excited to announce that I'll be hosting a family dinner around a real dining table, and you're invited!

Menu for Hearty Thai Family Dinner

Because this is a family dinner, where possible I source organic ingredients that are grown in the US. Most are purchased from either Good Eggs (visit their site for the principles farmers and ranchers follow) or Bi-Rite Market (visit their site for their values).

Menus are influenced by the season, with the Fall menu showcasing tomatoes, peppers, beans, squash, and eggplant. For $40, you get soup, a stir fry, two curries, and rice. Wine that pairs with the menu is complimentary. If you prefer a different alcoholic beverage with your dinner, you are welcome to bring it.

  • Soup: Tom Yum Gai. Homemade vegan broth with red curry paste, Galangal, Kaffir Lime, lemongrass, mushrooms, tomato, and organic chicken, finished with freshly squeezed lime juice. NOTE: Can be made vegetarian.
  • Stir fry: Pad Prik King. Stir fry with red curry paste, ginger, sweet peppers, green beans, and organic chicken. NOTE: Can be made vegetarian.
  • Curries:
    • Green Curry with Eggplant and Beef. Homemade chicken broth and coconut milk with green curry paste, eggplant, sweet peppers, and beef. Beef is from Fallon Hills Ranch and is 100% Grass-Fed and Finished.
    • Red Curry with Tofu. Homemade vegan broth and coconut milk with red curry paste, acorn squash, and organic tofu. Tofu is hand crafted by Hodo Soy from organic, non-GMO, US-grown, whole soybeans.
