About Me

Simply put, I’m what happens when a mixed media/fiber arts maker falls in love with and marries a civil engineer. I corral photographs and words, bring people together for life altering conversations, and throw affairs, both large and intimate, to remember.

Storytelling is my passion. I’ve been writing and illustrating books almost since I could first hold a pencil, publishing monthly story installments to my relatives. On my twelfth birthday, I began documenting The Good Life with pen and camera, filling countless journals and scrapbooks. From the moment I received my first camera -- a Kodak Instamatic 110 -- a camera has accompanied me almost everywhere.

I've always had an eye for capturing the moment and chronicling the every day moments that make a good life; with each shot, I strive to tell a story. In high school, I combined writing with photography for the yearbook and served as Layout Editor my senior year. In addition to writing for The Road to the Good Life blog, I’m currently developing a children’s book with my sister, a pre-school and primary educator of over 15 years.

A third-generation Californian who grew up in the Bay Area, I thrive in the intersection between technology and communication. I wholeheartedly embrace Silicon Valley, jumping into technology with both feet over 18 years ago, first as a graphics artist and then as a technical writer and illustrator. For the past eight years, I’ve served as the voice of the company, overseeing and managing corporate websites, crafting stories, editing and writing company newsletters, choosing events to participate in, and developing relationships with both current and future customers. I believe the best place to tell a story is over a home-cooked meal around a dinner table, discovering my love of food preparation with my first cooking class when I was eight. I've been throwing parties to remember ever since, planning and executing elaborate menus. I wrote a cookbook with a Thai chef, completely mastering the basics and changing my relationship with food, and currently teach an online Thai cooking class on Atly. I hosted a series of dinners showcasing local wines with regional, sustainable cuisine bringing together technology dreamers, vintners, and restauranteurs. My food photography has been published in Nation’s Restaurants News.
