In My Closet: Simple Comfort with a Cat Tote

There are times when jeans are not the most comfortable essential in your wardrobe. This happens when you're in between sizes; your proportions don't fit any designer's average standard sizing proportions. So, I'm more at ease in skirts and dresses right now.

A Little Whimsy in Cream, Black, and Red

This means at Alt Summit, I'll be wearing lots of tights (fleece-lined leggings and tights are a wonderful invention) and boots. Today's the official start of the conference, a full day of sessions from 9 to 5, followed by the Clue-themed party. For on-the-go, stylish comfort, I'm going to go with a touch of red and a whole bunch of polka dots.

What I'm Wearing: Five Strand Black and Green Beaded Necklace, from Patsy's Vintage Treasures (Etsy) $15; Cream with Black Polka Dot Dress by DJ & Co. from Sixty Five Roses (Etsy), $36; Red Leather Skinny Belt by Liz Claiborne from Frequency Vintage (Etsy), $7.50; Black and Cream Oxford T-Strap Pumps by Amalfi from Vintage Turtle (Etsy), $43; Eyelet Lace Petticoat from Millesime Belle (Etsy) now closed, $12.99; Cat Tote by Jason Wu from Target, $39.99.

How many Jason Wu cat totes do you predict at Alt?

And, with cubes until recently on a soft foods diet we didn't go through what I was buying as quickly as before. So, I was seeing potatoes turn green or shrivel. Squash rot. Garlic turn to dust. Seeing this waste a light bulb went on: I must be storing the vegetables wrong. To my cookbooks and the Internet I went in search of the right way(s) to keep them. And I discovered, or rather confirmed, I was doing it wrong.   General Guidelines for Storing Vegetables Most of us don't hav...

( updated 02/24/2022 ) Welcome! Nice to meet you!   I’m Eden, a fourth-generation Californian. Together my husband, 9.75 year old daughter, and Maine Coon/Ragamuffin rescue cat are in the process of unpacking and nesting in our new 100+ year old Craftsman in Berkeley, CA (until this past December we called a 100-year old, a 847 sq ft Edwardian flat in San Francisco home). We define The Good Life with haves not wants and experiences not things.     What's your story?
