Have you been following along or participating in the Elevate the Ordinary Instagram Challenge? We're just over half way through 30 prompts inspiring us to examine the ordinary--those little things in our lives we often take for granted. The challenge is about looking at own lives from another perspective. That introspection is why I ask others to share their definitions of The Good Life; I want to apply a different lens to my life. This month Conni Jespersen of Art in the Find talks about her view of The Good Life.
Conni and I met virtually through #AltChat, a weekly Twitter chat hosted every Wednesday at 9:00AM by Alt Summit. Like me, Conni is a California native. Her blog "was created out of a love of sharing what [she finds] with others. [She believes] there’s an art in the find. Art in the Find is a place where you can find style inspiration, the occasional DIY idea, features on small businesses & my recommendations for fun places to eat, stay, and shop! Please join me in welcoming Conni!
1. How do you define The Good Life?
To me the Good Life means being able to enjoy a moment each day, to see a challenge as a learning experience, and to be someone that others are inspired by.
2. Do you think it's possible to pursue The Good Life? Why or why not?
Absolutely! You have to be determined! It is easy to get incredibly overwhelmed because of all of the potential there is in the world. But to look at yourself, determine your strengths, and share those strengths with others, that is pursuing the good life!
3. Do you think you have The Good Life? If yes, when did you learn this?
Yes, No, Sometimes, Always. (-: That's a lot of answers because the answer varies depending on the scope of how you answer it! If I look at what I have, supportive friends, a good home, a positive husband, and then yes! I! do! If I answer this based on money & things, no, I don't always have it. I'd prefer to rank my Good Life according to the former!
4. How has blogging helped you recognize The Good Life?
Blogging brings a lot of opportunity, positive and negative. Negative, the tendency to compare yourself to other's successes. Positive, the ability to meet other bloggers (like you!) & collaborate with them to make a big world not seem so big after all. I love the energy that's out in the blogging hemisphere!
5. Do you have any tips you'd like to share with others?
I shared a very open, honest blog post the other day, which I don't normally do. You can read it here. The main point was not to spend your time focusing on what others are doing but what you can do and create the best, best, best out of that! If you believe in it, others will find you and will believe in it too!
Thank you so much Eden for allowing me to share with you on The Good Life!! You can find me at @artinthefind on Instagram, Twitter, Google +, Pinterest, Facebook, and the blog! - Conni
